Personally, I favour either the Comic Sans font which is in keeping with the handwritten style of Jazz, or for perfectly clear chords, Times New Roman or Arial are quite smart - basically it's down to your personal taste/trial & error.įrom a performers perspective, I prefer alternate bass notes to be beside, of beside & lower as opposed to below.įinally, there are a number of 'tricks' you will need to learn that are specific to Jazz lead sheets - may I suggest you do a search on this forum (both windows and mac) using terms such as "chords", "lead sheets", etc - there is much information and advice available. Whilst I do like the look of the Jazz font, I agree that it is not as clear to read as some would like. ![]() Three positions for alternate bass notes.
